My name is Richard Shearman-Tripp and I'm passionate about the craft brewing industry. I want to share that passion with others.
I'm just going into my 1st year of the Olds College Brewmaster & Brewery Operations Management program, which is going to allow me to develop my understanding of brewing.
My vision is to create interesting and different beer. I also want to continue to read as many publications as I can to further my understanding of the industry and treat everyone respectfully as I would want to be treated in return.
My mission over the next few years will be to join one of the amazing brewery's we have in Alberta that make great beer. Then one day I will be in a position where I will be able to experiment with sours and barrel ageing.
My goals are all related to beer right now! over the next 2 years I will be experimenting with different styles and flavors of beer, and I'm sure some other beverages... Once I feel I've perfected this I will be looking to let people try what I've created!
I'm a dedicated, friendly, outgoing, confident person with good communication skills and a keen sense of humor. I'm always willing to go the extra mile and can easily put people at ease. I'm passionate about all things I do and always willing to jump in and take a risk.
My code of ethics from a consumer standpoint I will try to educate consumers better on both the way beer is produced and what makes a good/bad beer (Although this is very subjective) so they can make better choices. Environmentally I will try to save water wherever possible in the brewing process and change the industry in anyway I can. Charitably I will try to raise funds for charities close to my heart through both creating / getting involved in events and donating both my time and money when I can. From a safety perspective I will always use my right to refuse to stop dangerous situations, report any issues I see and not let any unsafe practices happen.
